A Unique City of Black Stone
Clermont-Ferrand is a really cool city built from volcanic rock. The black cathedral is incredible to see up close. We loved just walking around the old streets, finding little shops and cafes. It's super walkable and the whole place has a unique look.
Incredible Scenery So Close By
The best part is how close the city is to the mountains. Taking the train up the Puy de Dôme gives you an amazing view of all the volcanoes. It's perfect for anyone who likes to mix city exploring with some proper outdoor time. A truly unique landscape.
Great Central Hub
I spent a lot of time around Place de Jaude; it's the center of everything. The city is full of great spots to eat. I tried the local Truffade dish, which was so rich and filling after a day of walking around. The people here are very welcoming.

A wonderful, low-key city break. The pace is relaxed, which was perfect. We found some great markets and tried the local Saint-Nectaire cheese-it was fantastic. It's a great destination if you want to unwind without huge crowds everywhere.
